Russia has only five large assault ships in the Black Sea

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Ukraine has managed to destroy four large landing ships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet. This was stated by Dmytro Pletenchuk, a representative of the Ukrainian Navy, on March 26 during a national telethon broadcast by the Rada TV channel.

"If we take large amphibious ships, there are five of them in service out of the 13 that they had at the beginning of the full-scale invasion," Pletenchuk said.

According to him, four Russian VDKs were completely destroyed, and four more were under repair, including Azov and Yamal.

"Yamal has already completed repairs and was supposed to be tested, [now] it has been damaged and is returning to repair. "Azov was damaged and remains under repair. Now we can add Konstantin Olshansky to the list. That is, there were 14 in total. Five remain in service as of now. And five are actually under repair along with the Konstantin Olshansky," the speaker explained.

In total, according to Pletenchuk, Russians are repairing 15 damaged ships in Crimea.

"Unfortunately, if we take into account the quality indicators, the most dangerous weapons remain in service - these are Kalibr cruise missile carriers, including underwater and surface missiles," he said.

Pletenchuk reminded that two Russian missile carriers were destroyed: the Rostov-on-Don submarine and the Askold small missile ship.

"That's why there are a dozen of them [Kalibr carriers] on average. Because this number fluctuates depending on combat readiness, they remain in service. However, they have problems with logistics. And, as you can see, they have not been used for a long time," the speaker summarized.

Earlier, Pletenchuk explained that if the Yamal and Azov ships were disabled by strikes on March 23, only three VDKs would remain in the occupiers' Black Sea Fleet.
