Shmyhal and Duda discussed military assistance

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, who is on a visit to Warsaw on 28 March, met with Polish President Andrzej Duda.

This was reported by the Polish president's office on Twitter (X).

During the meeting at the Presidential Palace in Warsaw, Shmyhal and Duda discussed "topical issues of the bilateral agenda and the security situation in the region," the statement said.

"They also discussed cooperation in the comprehensive military, financial, and diplomatic support provided by Poland and its allies to Ukraine, which is fighting for independence," it said, adding that Ukraine's progress towards membership in the European Union and NATO was also discussed.

For his part, the Ukrainian prime minister said he thanked the Polish president "for his decisive and significant personal contribution to supporting Ukraine". According to him, their conversation also touched upon the Ukrainian "peace formula" and the provision of weapons to Ukraine.
