The issue of protecting Ukraine becomes a political matter in the US

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy believes that the issue of helping Ukraine to repel large-scale military aggression by the Russian Federation has become "politicized" in the United States of America.

This is reported by RBC-Ukraine regarding the statement of the head of state in an interview with CBS News.

Thus, the Ukrainian president commented on the words of an American journalist that, in addition to Russian aggression against Ukraine, Washington should respond to Israel's ongoing military campaign against the terrorist organization Hamas, in particular in the matter of support.

According to Zelenskyy, these wars cannot be compared.

"I believe that the issue of Ukraine, the full-scale war on the part of the Russian Federation, which began 10 years ago, this war, but full-scale - a little more than 2 years, cannot be compared with the tragedy in the Middle East," he said.

Zelenskyy added that this is not about comparing the number of victims but in general.

"It is a fact that the issue of preserving and protecting Ukraine has become a matter of politics in the United States. It seems to me that there is injustice in this. This is, I believe, an inadequate response to a full-scale war," the president said.

He noted that you can compare the process, but "you can't say - we still have some kind of war."

"No. It's not true, none of you (USA, - ed.) have any war. There is a real war in Ukraine against the whole world, against democracy and values. I don't want to repeat the words, maybe they bore someone. But they only those who don't fight, and don't know what war is, and didn't lose children, are bored," Zelenskyy emphasizes.

The president also said that the United States is helping Ukraine, and "we are grateful to society and bilateral support, but there is no war in the United States of America."

"But it can come, both to Europe and to the United States of America. To Europe very quickly. Russian missiles are already flying into the territory of independent Poland. They have already fallen, but they did not believe us, but now it is a fact that they flew in and flew out... And everyone says: "If anything, we will defend ourselves". What is "we"? In my understanding, "we" is NATO. NATO is the soldiers of the United States of America," Zelenskyy said.

He added that for this reason the American side cannot be told that "we don't have a war, it will come very quickly... But we have a situation with Putin. And missiles can reach any country tomorrow."
