This was discussed at a meeting between First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Levan Davitashvili, and Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar, Ukrinform reports.

"The meeting discussed priority areas of cooperation between the countries in the energy sector. It was emphasized on ensuring the operation of electricity transmission systems between Georgia and Turkey in parallel mode," the Ministry of Economy of Georgia said.

It is also noted that large infrastructure projects in the energy sector were discussed, which will contribute to both the reliability of Georgia's energy system and regional electricity trade and increase the possibilities of import, export, and transit between neighboring countries.

"Among them, the importance of supplying energy resources from Central Asia and the South Caucasus to the European market was emphasized... The parties agreed to make efforts to make Georgia and Turkey reliable suppliers of energy resources to the EU," the ministry said.
